I am off to another excellent start for the year! Not only is 2019 going to be jam-packed with races, but for my first race, at the San Juan Bautista Mission 10 Half-Marathon, on January 26, 2019, I was able to finish with another PR at 2:00:08, which is 2 minutes faster than my previous time!
Now I was aiming for under 2 hours, but considering everything, I think I did pretty well. I did not stop once for a quick walk, pushed myself through any urges and continued. I beat my previous time, and I was able to do it with a few of my OCR racers there, as they ran multiple other races, such as the 1 Mile Sprint, the 5K, and the 10 Miler!
For the next few months, I will be running various obstacle races, including two Spartan Trifectas, a few Rugged Maniacs, my very first full-marathon, and much, much more!
I will continue to carboload, train, and push myself to do more; while additionally pushing my young OCR athletes to push themselves as well, with new equipment being donated every month, thanks to donors online! (Link: https://www.donorschoose.org/daniel.lopez)
As always, thank you for reading and remember to never give up and push yourselves each and every day!

Thank you! I train year round, so I’m not too worried, but it’s still a little daunting. 😄
